Belarus, Oman Strike Visa Exemption Deal
(MENAFN) Belarus and Oman formalized a groundbreaking visa exemption agreement on Monday, with a signing ceremony attended by key leaders from both nations, including Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko and Omani Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said.
Under the newly inked deal, citizens of both countries holding valid national passports will be able to travel freely for up to 30 days without needing a visa, provided their passports are valid for at least six months from the date of entry. The agreement also stipulates that total stay within a calendar year cannot exceed 90 days, as reported by a news agency.
Alongside the visa agreement, a series of collaborative agreements were signed, marking a deepening of bilateral relations. These include a roadmap outlining future cooperation and a memorandum for the construction of a pulp and paperboard mill in Belarus.
In the legal domain, the supreme courts of both nations signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU), aimed at advancing legal cooperation and sharing expertise. Additionally, the N. N. Alexandrov National Cancer Centre of Belarus and Oman's Sultan Qaboos Comprehensive Cancer Care and Research Center formalized an MoU to strengthen scientific, medical, and research collaboration in oncology.
To further boost bilateral ties, an MoU was also signed between the agricultural ministries of both countries, focusing on agriculture, animal husbandry, fisheries, and food sectors.
The agreements signal a significant expansion of economic, legal, and scientific collaboration between Belarus and Oman.
