Jordan monitors Jordanian detainees after Gaza Flotilla seizing
(MENAFN) The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced it was monitoring "closely" the status of Jordanian nationals who were traveling on the Global Freedom Flotilla when it was seized by Israeli authorities.
Ministry representative Fuad Majali reported that the Jordanian Embassy's chargé d’Affaires in Tel Aviv visited the detained Jordanian citizens at the facility where Israel is holding the flotilla passengers.
He verified that all Jordanian citizens are in good condition.
Majali also stated that the envoy checked on citizens from Kuwait and Mauritania after receiving official requests from those two administrations.
He added that those individuals were also reported to be in good health.
The ministry reiterated its commitment to protecting the rights and welfare of Jordanian citizens, confirming that the Tel Aviv embassy and the ministry's operations and consular affairs staff are actively working to ensure their rapid and safe return.
Majali emphasized that Jordan holds Israel entirely accountable for the security of Jordanian citizens, calling on Israeli authorities to respect their legal rights and ensure their immediate return home.
