Jon is an Associate Professor of Public Health at the Faculty of Health, University of Technology Sydney and holds visiting positions at the School of Medicine, University of Washington and Boston University. In addition to his academic roles Jon has clinical backgrounds in naturopathy and nursing, and postgraduate qualifications in medical law.

Jon is a core committee member of the Public Health Association of Australia's Research Advisory Group as well as it's Evidence, Research and Policy in Complementary Medicine Special Interest Group.

Jon has also worked on complementary medicine and primary healthcare policy in Australia, the United Kingdom, Germany, the United States and India. His research interests include health policy, professionalisation and public health and health services research related to complementary medicine.
