Netanyahu Rejects Palestinian State in Trump’s Gaza Proposal
(MENAFN) Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared on Tuesday that no Palestinian state would be created under the Gaza plan put forward by US President Donald Trump.
In a video message, Netanyahu emphasized that he had not consented to the establishment of a Palestinian state during discussions in Washington, and that such an idea was absent from Trump’s suggested plan.
“There is one thing we did say that we should strongly oppose a Palestinian state,” Netanyahu stated firmly.
The Israeli leader described his trip to the United States as both “historic” and “excellent.”
He highlighted a significant shift in dynamics, saying, “Instead of Hamas isolating us, we turned the tables and isolated Hamas. Now the entire world, including the Arab and Muslim world, is pressuring Hamas to accept the terms we set together with President Trump to release all our hostages, both living and deceased, while the IDF (Israeli army) remains in most of the Strip.”
Netanyahu added that President Trump had assured full support for Israel should Hamas reject the proposal.
“On the contrary, President Trump added that if Hamas refuses, he will give Israel full backing to complete the military operation and eliminate them,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Qatar confirmed on Tuesday that Hamas received Trump’s proposed plan through intermediaries late Monday.
On Monday, Trump revealed a detailed 20-point proposal aimed at ending the conflict between Israel and Gaza during a joint press conference with Netanyahu at the White House.
