Drone Strike Claims Two Lives in Russia’s Moscow Region

(MENAFN) A deadly drone strike overnight set fire to a private residence in the Moscow region, claiming the lives of two individuals, Governor Andrei Vorobyov confirmed on Monday.

"Unfortunately, a tragedy occurred in Voskresensk: two people died in a fire in a private home," Vorobyov stated on Telegram, offering condolences to the victims' families.

Russian air defense forces managed to intercept four drones in the vicinity of Voskresensk and Kolomna. Several buildings in Voskresensk also sustained damage, including broken windows and damaged facades, while street lighting in the area was temporarily disrupted.

Emergency services were promptly dispatched to the affected area, and Vorobyov emphasized that assistance and temporary housing would be provided to those impacted.

Drone attacks on regions near the Russian capital and its borders have surged in recent months, with Moscow accusing Ukrainian forces of being behind these assaults. Ukraine has yet to publicly comment on these allegations.
