Rashid extended his congratulations to Aliyev on the progress in peace negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as the normalization accord signed in Washington, according to a statement released by Azerbaijan’s presidency.

Aliyev expressed his appreciation for Rashid’s commendation and affirmed that Baku will persist in promoting the peace agenda, highlighting US President Donald Trump's "special" contribution to the Washington meeting.

The discussions also focused on the function of the intergovernmental commission in enhancing relations between Baku and Baghdad, alongside collaboration in energy, tourism, and additional sectors, the statement noted.

Furthermore, the leaders explored avenues for joint efforts within international organizations, including the UN, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the Non-Aligned Movement.
