'Ya Ali' Singer Zubeen Garg Dies In Singapore Freak Accident

Srinagar- The music world plunged into mourning on Friday after celebrated Assamese singer Zubeen Garg , best known nationwide for the blockbuster track Ya Ali, died in a freak scuba diving accident in Singapore. He was 52 .
Garg, who rose to fame in Assam during the 1990s, achieved pan-India stardom in 2006 when Ya Ali from the film Gangster became one of Bollywood's most memorable hits.
According to reports, the singer was participating in a scuba diving activity when he fell into the sea. Though rescued and rushed to the ICU, he succumbed shortly after. He was scheduled to perform at the North East Festival in Singapore later the same day.
A video shared online showed Garg, wearing a life jacket, moments before the tragedy as he leapt into the sea for a swim.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed condolences, posting on X:“Shocked by the sudden demise of popular singer Zubeen Garg. He will be remembered for his rich contribution to music.”
