Mark A Gregory was born in Melbourne, Australia and after some time away for schooling and a stint in the Army settled back in Melbourne.
He received a PhD and a Master of Engineering from RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia in 2008 and 1992 respectively, and a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) from University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia in 1984.
He continues to teach the next generation of engineers working as an Associate Professor in the School of Engineering, RMIT University and was recognised for his teaching in 2009 when he was awarded an Australian Learning and Teaching Council Citation.
Mark has recently published a book on Security and the Networked Society which provides research and discussion relating to current issues surrounding telecommunications, the National Broadband Network and the Internet.
Mark has more than 100 publications including his book, journal and conference papers covering topics in the areas of cyber-security, fibre and wireless networks, public policy and technical risk. Dr Gregory is a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers Australia and a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc.
Dr Gregory actively participates in public debate covering telecommunications, digital security and the Internet. He is available to write articles and participate in conferences, seminars and interviews.
