Algerian Leader Names Sifi Ghrieb as New Premier


(MENAFN) Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune designated Sifi Ghrieb as the nation’s new prime minister on Sunday.

According to a statement from the Algerian presidency, Tebboune has instructed Ghrieb to assemble a new government.

No additional information was shared concerning the structure of the forthcoming cabinet or the schedule for its establishment.

Earlier, on Thursday, Tebboune dismissed Prime Minister Nadir Larbaoui, who had been appointed to the role in November 2023. Authorities did not provide an explanation for his removal.
