Jordan Strengthens Tourism Security Ties With Saudi Arabia, Kuwait

Amman, Sept. 17 (Petra) -- Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Emad Hijazeen on Tuesday received a senior delegation representing the tourism security agencies of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
The visit, held at the Ministry headquarters and attended by Mohammad Al-Majali, Director of Supervision and Quality Control, centered on boosting cooperation and sharing expertise in safeguarding tourism.
Hijazeen described Saudi Arabia and Kuwait as "pillar markets" for Jordanian tourism, stressing that strong ties with both countries provide a powerful platform for building joint initiatives. He also praised Jordan's Tourism Police for their role in ensuring visitor safety and emphasized that rigorous supervision and service quality remain top priorities for the Ministry.
The Gulf delegation learned firsthand about Jordan's innovative system of joint inspection committees for tourism establishments, an approach designed to raise standards, protect cultural heritage, and guarantee an excellent visitor experience. Al-Majali highlighted the committee's proactive role in monitoring facilities, enhancing quality, and setting benchmarks for the sector.
Delegates from Saudi Arabia and Kuwait praised Jordan's standing as a leading regional and global tourism destination, expressing eagerness to expand cooperation and exchange expertise in both tourism security and regulatory best practices.
