Conviction In Narcotics Cases Must Improve: IGP Birdi

Srinagar- Inspector General of Police (Kashmir Zone), V.K. Birdi, on Tuesday directed officers to step up night patrolling, strengthen investigations, and maintain strict vigilance on anti-national elements.

Addressing senior officers, including SSPs and DIGs, IGP Birdi emphasized the need to build robust cases to ensure higher conviction rates in terrorism and narcotics-related cases. He also called for enhanced market checking to curb unlawful activities.

The IGP chaired a security review meeting at PCR Kashmir to assess the overall security situation across the Kashmir Zone. The meeting was attended by all Range DIGs, district SSPs of the Kashmir Zone, and other senior officers, who briefed him on the law and order scenario in their respective areas.
