J&K Police Serving As Guardian Of Youth: LG

Srinagar- Calling the Jammu and Kashmir Police a“guardian for the youth of Jammu and Kashmir,” the LG said the force is committed to providing opportunities, resources, support, and mentorship to young people, fostering civic responsibility and inclusive development.

Sinha made these remarks while attending the closing ceremony of Jashn-e-Dal, a three-day water sports event organised by Jammu and Kashmir Police at Dal Lake.

“Jammu and Kashmir Police's proactive engagement with communities and empowerment of youth is laudable. It has been working with integrity and dedication to protect the nation's internal security,” the Lieutenant Governor said, congratulating the police for their significant contribution in nation-building, maintaining law and order, and fighting terrorism.

He praised initiatives like Jashn-e-Dal, Pedal for Peace, and marathons, football, and cricket tournaments, saying these events are“more than just sports activities” and represent“a new and positive chapter for our youth.”

“Sports is a unifying force. I want our youth to act as powerful agents of change by leveraging their energy, discipline, perseverance and creativity,” Sinha said, urging athletes to inspire others to stay away from drugs and work for community development, nation-building, and climate action.

The LG also called upon young volunteers to actively participate in the upcoming Sewa Parv from September 17, 2025, and lead community service initiatives such as cleanliness drives, tree plantation campaigns, and support for weaker sections of society.

He noted that public participation in preserving lakes, rivers, and natural resources has shown positive results in recent years, reminding youth that these water bodies are“an integral part of our life and necessary for our existence.”
