Government Proposes UAH 191B For Program Of Medical Guarantees In 2026 Liashko


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Minister of Health Viktor Liashko announced this on Facebook , Ukrinform reports.

"The government approved the draft state budget for 2026 and submitted it to the Verkhovna Rada. A total of UAH 258 billion is earmarked for the healthcare system, of which UAH 191.6 billion is for the Program of Medical Guarantees, or UAH 16 billion more than in 2025," Liashko wrote.

According to him, the funding will go toward treating wounded defenders, primary and emergency care, affordable medicines, hospital upgrades, and ensuring equal access to healthcare services.

Specifically, UAH 10 billion is proposed for the national preventive check-up program for people over 40, as well as UAH 15.1 billion for centralized procurement of medicines and medical supplies, including treatments for cancer and cardiovascular diseases.

The draft budget also allocates UAH 1.3 billion for a joint project by the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Veterans Affairs, and the National Health Service of Ukraine to provide free dental prosthetics and care for service members and veterans (with the list of beneficiaries to be expanded in 2026), as well as UAH 190 million for services related to the collection, cryopreservation, and storage of reproductive cells for military personnel.

Additionally, UAH 150 million is planned to support young doctors in rural and frontline communities (one-time assistance of UAH 200,000 and service housing), and UAH 9.9 billion is to be allocated for investment projects to modernize medical infrastructure.
