Alice Zhang, MD, is a family medicine physician in the Penn State Health Department of Family and Community Medicine.
Dr. Zhang grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia. After completing her undergraduate education at Duke University in Durham, N.C., she received her medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Baltimore. During this time, she pursued two international year-long research fellowships in Australia and China before returning home to Pennsylvania for a family medicine residency at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health.
Following her residency, Dr. Zhang joined Penn State Health as a family medicine physician and primary care research fellow. Her research interests include community-based interventions and health promotion, health disparities and social determinants of health, adverse childhood experiences and trauma-informed care, chronic disease management and medical genetics.
