Swedish Premier Slams Orban’s Remarks

(MENAFN) Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson on Monday dismissed the assertions made by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, who claimed that Sweden is "collapsing" because of escalating gang-related violence. Kristersson condemned the remarks, labeling them "outrageous lies."

Earlier, Orban had published a message on the US social networking site X, referencing an article from a German newspaper.

He alleged that criminal organizations in Sweden are recruiting minors to act as assassins.

According to Orban, "over 280 underage girls" have been apprehended for homicide, while accusing the Swedish leadership of lecturing Hungary about the rule of law despite what he described as a worsening security environment in Sweden.

Kristersson promptly reacted on X, countering: "These are outrageous lies. Not surprising coming from the man who is dismantling the rule of law in his own country."

He further remarked that Orban is "desperate ahead of the upcoming Hungarian election."
