EHA Launches National Telemedicine Platform With Support From Egyptian Doctors Abroad

(MENAFN- Daily News Egypt) The Egypt Healthcare Authority (EHA) has officially launched a national telemedicine platform aimed at connecting Egyptian medical professionals abroad with patients across Egypt. The initiative was announced during a meeting between EHA Chairperson Ahmed El-Sobky and renowned actor Hany Salama, as part of a broader strategy to engage Egyptian expertise worldwide in strengthening the country's healthcare system.

El-Sobky described the platform as a major milestone in Egypt's transition to a smart healthcare model. It will provide remote medical consultations and treatments through EHA hospitals, improving the accessibility and responsiveness of healthcare services-particularly in governorates covered by the Universal Health Insurance system.

The project will be implemented in collaboration with Egyptian embassies worldwide, as well as relevant ministries and government bodies.. El-Sobky emphasized that the Authority's advanced digital infrastructure is fully equipped to support the platform, which aligns with leading global standards in digital health.

In recognition of his efforts to connect Egyptian medical professionals abroad with national initiatives, actor Hany Salama was named the official ambassador of the platform. Salama had previously taken the initiative to support the development of a comprehensive database of Egyptian doctors living overseas, in coordination with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Immigration.

Speaking at the event, Salama expressed his pride in contributing to the project, stating:“Egyptian talents shine all over the world-it's time their expertise reaches those who need it most at home, with dignity and ease.”

He added that the platform would serve as a vital bridge between Egyptian physicians abroad and citizens at home, reinforcing values of service, connection, and national belonging.
