FAA Mulls USD3.1M Fine on Boeing Over Safety Violations

(MENAFN) The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has recommended a civil penalty of $3.1 million against Boeing for safety violations that occurred between September 2023 and February 2024.

The FAA identified numerous quality system breaches at Boeing’s 737 production facility in Renton, Washington, as well as at the 737 factory operated by Boeing subcontractor Spirit AeroSystems in Wichita, Kansas. The violations were linked to an incident in which an Alaska Airlines jetliner lost a door plug panel mid-flight.

In response, Boeing stated on Saturday that it is reviewing the FAA's proposed fine. The company also emphasized that it had implemented a safety and quality plan last year to improve safety management and ensure better quality control.
