Minister Of Environment Honours Houbara Breeding Project Owners

Doha, Qatar: Minister of Environment and Climate Change H E Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie yesterday visited the 9th edition of the Katara International Hunting and Falcons Exhibition“S'hail 2025,” organized by the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) and continuing until September 14.

During the visit, the Minister viewed key exhibits and the latest innovations in hunting weapons, falconry equipment, and expedition gear.

He also inspected the two pavilions of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change at the exhibition, where he was briefed on the main services provided by the Protection and Nature Reserves Sector and the Wildlife Development Department, including the ministry's electronic services aimed at streamlining procedures and advancing digital transformation in the environmental sector.

At the pavilion of the State's Overseas Reserves Office, Al Subaie received a detailed presentation on Qatar's leading initiatives to protect the houbara bustard, the interactive map of existing and planned centers abroad, and attended a live display of bustards and taxidermy specimens, alongside accompanying awareness activities.

On the sidelines of the exhibition, he honoured several private houbara breeding project owners in recognition of their contribution to national efforts to preserve biodiversity and raise awareness about the importance of protecting this bird from extinction.

Dr. Farhoud Hadi Al-Hajri, Director of Public Relations and Communication at the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, affirmed that the ministry's participation this year comes with a new look in terms of design and content, reflecting a renewed approach to enhancing environmental awareness, promoting sustainability, and preserving natural resources and biodiversity.
