The OpenSearch Software Foundation has appointed Bianca Lewis as its new Executive Director, tasking her with guiding the foundation's strategy, growing its community engagement, and maintaining vendor-neutral development. She takes on the post as the foundation marks its first year under the Linux Foundation banner.
Lewis arrives with more than two decades of experience in technology, entrepreneurship, and business strategy, having held leadership roles at firms such as Opster and Logz. io. She serves on the advisory boards of several international tech firms and is on the board of LGBTWork, playing an advocacy role for diversity and inclusion within the tech sector.

Among her key responsibilities will be to scale operations, ensure sustainable growth, foster collaboration among stakeholders, and strengthen support structures for both members and community contributors. She is charged with implementing scalable processes to maintain operational excellence amid accelerated growth.
The foundation has expanded its technical governance infrastructure: it now has a Technical Steering Committee with 15 members from companies including Aryn, Slack and IBM.
