Zelensky Speaks About Preparations For Meetings With US And UN General Assembly

"We are in constant contact with our American colleagues at various levels. The head of my office, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Chairman of the National Security and Defense Council. We are in contact with Rubio, Kellogg, Witkoff - with everyone. We sometimes have the opportunity to communicate with President Trump, we have the appropriate calls. The last time we had a call was in Paris. We talked with the president about sanctions and various steps. Now we are waiting for an opportunity in the coming days to also contact the White House, and I think we will have a conversation. We are also working on a meeting based on the Coalition of the Willing. Perhaps we will also have a meeting between our teams and the American side," Zelensky said.

The head of state stressed that the main thing is not the number of these conversations and meetings, but the result after them. He also informed that preparations are underway for a meeting at the UN General Assembly, where many events are planned, including the Crimean Platform.

“This year, we are organizing the Crimean Platform at the level of many leaders, so there will be many leaders. And Russia is doing everything to prevent us from entering some hall, blocking something there. They say that they are not afraid of this topic, but they are constantly working against it. But we will still hold the relevant summit,” Zelensky said.

The president added that events dedicated to the issue of Ukrainian children abducted by Russia will be held within the framework of the General Assembly.

“We have already agreed on a meeting in coordination with Prime Minister [of Canada] Carney regarding our children. We will hold it together with him, and many leaders will also be invited to discuss Ukrainian children who were abducted by Russia. Such a meeting will also be held at the General Assembly,” he said.

As reported, the High-Level Week of the General Assembly will take place from September 23 to 29, when leaders and high-ranking officials from many countries around the world will arrive at the headquarters.
