Al-Sharaa Awaits Attending 80th UN General Assembly
(MENAFN) Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharaa is set to attend the 80th Session of the UN General Assembly and the “High-Level Week,” which will take place from Sept. 22-30 in New York City.
He will be joined by Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani and a senior diplomatic delegation, according to a Syrian news agency.
This event represents the first time a Syrian president has participated since 1967, as well as the country’s inaugural presence in the High-Level Week.
During the assembly, Al-Sharaa and al-Shaibani are expected to engage in a variety of meetings and activities, including bilateral discussions with state leaders and heads of delegations attending the UN General Assembly.
