European governments strongly denounce Israeli attack on Qatar

(MENAFN) On Tuesday, the Israeli attack on the Qatari capital Doha triggered strong international backlash, with European leaders cautioning that it breached Qatar's authority and endangered delicate attempts to reach a Gaza truce.

The FM of Spain condemned the shelling as a "violation of Qatari territorial sovereignty and a flagrant breach of international law," pushing restriction and a quick restoration to diplomacy.
Emmanuel Macron, the French leader labeled the strike "unacceptable" and urged avoiding the conflict from expanding across the Middle East.

The PM of Britin, Keir Starmer condemned the attack as a breach of Qatar's sovereignty, emphasizing that the main focus has to be an urgent truce, the freeing of captives and a rise in assistance to Gaza.

In addition, The UN denounced the attack, labeling it as a breach of Qatar's land sovereignty that puts at risk more intensification.

The bloc stated: "Any escalation of the war in Gaza must be avoided -- it is in no one’s interest. We will continue to support all efforts towards a ceasefire in Gaza."
