Syria's Leader Set to Participate in 80th UN General Assembly
(MENAFN) Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharaa is set to attend the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly and the “High-Level Week” in New York from September 22-30.
Al-Sharaa will be joined by Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani and a senior diplomatic team, a Syrian news agency confirmed. This marks a historic moment, as it will be the first time a Syrian president has participated in the General Assembly since 1967 and Syria’s debut at the High-Level Week event.
During the week, Al-Sharaa and al-Shaibani are expected to engage in numerous meetings and discussions, including bilateral talks with other world leaders and delegation heads in attendance at the event.
