Anne Irfan is a historian of the modern Middle East, specialising in Palestinian refugee history. Her work focuses on colonial legacies in displacement, internationalism, and bordering practices. She author of the books Refuge and Resistance: Palestinians and the International Refugee System (Columbia University Press, 2023) and A Short History of the Gaza Strip (Simon & Schuster/W.W. Norton, 2025).
