Malaysia Condemns Israel’s Strike on Qatar

(MENAFN) Malaysia strongly denounced Israel’s assault on a Hamas negotiation delegation in Doha, Qatar, on Wednesday.

“Malaysia condemns in the strongest possible terms the Israeli airstrikes on Doha,” Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim stated on US social media company X.

“This wanton act of aggression is a blatant violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and a grave breach of international law,” Anwar added, emphasizing that the attacks threatened civilian lives and regional peace.

“By targeting Qatar—a nation central to mediation and dialogue in the Middle East —Israel has shown utter contempt for peace and diplomacy. Such an assault is indefensible and intolerable,” he continued.

Malaysia expressed its “full solidarity” with Qatar, urging the international community to hold Israel responsible for this “outrageous aggression.”

On Tuesday, explosions shook Doha, sending plumes of smoke into the sky.

An Israeli military spokesperson described the operation as a “precise strike” aimed at senior Hamas leadership, without disclosing the exact location.

The Israeli prime minister’s office stated that the action against the Palestinian group was "wholly independent."
