Ghana Secures 1-0 Win Over Mali in 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifier
(MENAFN) Alexander Djiku’s second-half goal clinched a 1-0 triumph for Ghana over Mali in the 2026 FIFA World Cup African qualifier at Accra Sports Stadium on Monday.
Djiku notched his third international goal in the 49th minute, heading in a corner expertly delivered by captain Jordan Ayew.
This victory propels Ghana three points clear at the summit of Group I, holding 19 points from eight matches, ahead of Madagascar. Comoros ranks third with 15 points, followed by Mali on 12, the Central African Republic (CAR) with five, and Chad at the bottom with one.
Ghana’s upcoming fixtures include an away game against CAR in October, followed by a home match against Comoros to close out their qualifying campaign.
