Awqaf Ministry Launches Live Fatwas Service On Islamweb
Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Awqaf (Endowments) and Islamic Affairs launched Monday the "Live Fatwas AI" service on the Islamic network "Islamweb", affiliated with the Department of Call and Religious Guidance.
The launch was attended by Minister of Awqaf (Endowments) and Islamic Affairs HE Ghanem bin Shaheen Al Ghanem, and Undersecretary of the Ministry HE Dr. Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Ghanem Al-Thani.
The launch of the service comes as part of the Ministry's alignment with Qatar National Vision 2030 and the Third National Development Strategy, and in response to the growing public demand for immediate and accurate religious answers, benefiting from integration with the network's archive, which includes hundreds of thousands of diverse fatwas.
The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs said that the service allows direct communication with a specialized team of Islamic scholars.
This service relies on artificial intelligence technologies to provide a seamless experience, allowing users immediate interaction and highly accurate results, while adhering to Islamic Sharia regulations and strict scientific oversight of the new service's output.
Director of the Department of Da'wah and Religious Guidance, Jassim bin Abdullah Al Ali, explained that this event represents a qualitative shift in the history of fatwas.
He emphasized the Ministry's commitment to enhancing the ongoing mission of Islamweb and supporting it with all means and technological advancements to fulfill its scientific and civilizational mission by disseminating reliable Islamic knowledge and facilitating fatwas.
He said that the new service constitutes a modern bridge between Islamweb's audience and the scholars and fatwa experts working there, achieving a qualitative leap in immediate interaction and scientific accuracy.
He praised the Ministry's efforts in combining development with a commitment to authentic methodology.
He noted that the value of this achievement is evident in its significant impact on the local, regional, and global community, as it contributes to enhancing religious awareness, facilitating access to correct Islamic rulings from reliable sources, and strengthening public confidence in scholarly authorities, under the Ministry's patronage and the support of the General Administration of Endowments.
The launch of the "Live Fatwas" (AI) service, powered by artificial intelligence, is a model for the use of AI to serve society, providing quick and reliable access to Islamic legal information and facilitating digital access to the Islamic Network's authentic fatwa heritage.
It's worth noting that Islamweb was established by the Ministry of Awqaf (Endowments) and Islamic Affairs more than two decades ago, with the mission of disseminating reliable Islamic knowledge and facilitating access to fatwas worldwide.
