Major Car Collision Claims Seven Lives in Uzbekistan


(MENAFN) Seven people lost their lives and nine others were injured in a deadly multi-vehicle collision on Sunday in Uzbekistan’s Tashkent region, local media reported Monday, citing the country’s Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The tragic incident took place on the A-373 Tashkent-Osh international highway, near the Angren area. A truck collided with two other trucks and five passenger cars, triggering the fatal crash.

Seven people were declared dead at the scene, while five others with varying degrees of injury were rushed to the hospital. Four additional individuals received on-site medical treatment for less serious injuries.

Authorities have launched a formal investigation into the cause of the crash. Local media has not provided further details on the identities of those involved.
