Water Levels Receding But Still Above Danger Mark: Div Com Kashmir
Srinagar- Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Anshul Garg, on Thursday said that while water levels at Sangam and Ram Munshi Bagh are receding, they continue to remain above the danger mark and hence caution is still required.
In a post on X, Div Com Garg wrote that, the preventive evacuation has been initiated in Shalina, Rakh Shalina, Seerbagh and Summerbugh areas, which were affected by a breach in the Jhelum embankment near Zoonipora in Budgam. A similar advisory has also been issued for Lasjan, Soiteng, Nowgam, Vyethpora, Padshahibagh and Mehjoornagar areas of Srinagar.
He said that 11 rescue teams comprising Revenue, Police, NDRF and SDRF personnel are on the job to assist people in the affected localities. The Div Com appealed to citizens to maintain calm and strictly follow advisories issued by the concerned District Administrations.
