GCC Welcomes Belgium's Intent To Recognize Palestinian State

RIYADH, Sept 2 (KUNA) -- Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jassem Al-Budaiwi welcomed on Tuesday Belgium's announcement, intending to recognize a Palestinian state.
In a statement, Al-Budaiwi said the announcement reflects growing regional and international backing for the two-state solution, which embodies the principles relevant to international charters supporting the Palestinian cause.
He urged all other world countries to follow suit in a bid to achieve a just and inclusive peace on the Middle East region, based on the two-state solution, the Arab Peace Initiative and international legitimacy resolutions. (end)
