Advisor To Prime Minister And Official Spokesperson For Ministry Of Foreign Affairs: UN General Assembly Meetings Opportunity To Affirm International Stance In Support Of Palestinian Cause

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) In spite of the ongoing Israeli aggressions and escalation of the situation on the ground in Gaza, Qatar alongside partners is determined to continue the extensive efforts to reach a peaceful settlement, stressed Dr Majid al-Ansari, Advisor to HE the Prime Minister and Official Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the weekly media briefing at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday stated that there is no official response yet from Israel on the proposed ceasefire deal approved by Hamas. However, the situation on the ground is not promising of any positive response, as Israel has continued its determination to attack and invade Gaza and the West Bank.

Meanwhile, he pointed out that Qatar alongside partners will continue communications and efforts until the situation is resolved peacefully.

He stressed that international pressure should continue as well on Israel to allow aid and food supplies to the Palestinian people and all the crossings should be open to allow such aid to reach the people to ease their sufferings. He said such collective punishment and blocking of food supplies and aid are not acceptable practices and violate all the international humanitarian laws and conventions.

Further, Qatar alongside other partners will continue to push for the two-state solutions and the acknowledgment of the State of Palestine. He also expressed appropriateness for the efforts of Saudi Arabia and France in this regard. In addition, United Nations efforts in this regard enjoy strong global support.

Regarding the Ukrainian-Russian situation, he said that Qatar welcomes and supports all the efforts that could lead to a peaceful settlement.
