Manoj Jarange Sets 2-Month Deadline For Maratha Quota Gets Bombay HC Nod To Continue Azad Maidan Protest Until Sept 3
On Tuesday, the Bombay High Court permitted Jarange to continue his ongoing protest at Mumbai's Azad Maidan until Wednesday morning. The order followed Jarange's request for additional time, during which he assured the court that the majority of his supporters had already departed from the city or would do so by the evening.
Meanwhile, three senior Maharashtra ministers visited Azad Maidan to initiate talks with the activist over his demands. According to Jarange, the government has pledged to provide compensation within a week to the families of those who lost their lives during the quota agitation. He further stated that the state has also assured the withdrawal of cases filed against protesters involved in the stir.
