Egypt Seeks Stronger Cooperation with China

(MENAFN) Egypt is prepared to expand its partnership with China, particularly in the economic sphere, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport Kamel El-Wazir said Monday.

In an official statement, El-Wazir underscored China's position as Egypt's leading trading partner and conveyed confidence in the potential for greater Chinese investment in the country.

El-Wazir is visiting China as the representative of Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi, attending ceremonies marking the 80th anniversary of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

He highlighted the long-standing strength of bilateral relations, recalling that Egypt and China have maintained a comprehensive strategic partnership since 2014.

Referencing the 2024 implementation outline for that partnership, signed earlier this year, El-Wazir stated the agreement serves as a strategic roadmap to enhance cooperation, building on measurable progress achieved over the past decade.

During his visit, El-Wazir is scheduled to meet with top executives and leaders of major Chinese firms to discuss investment opportunities and deepen collaboration between both nations.
