Zelenskyy shared the update on the US social media platform X, stating that Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko and Security Service chief Vasyl Maliuk informed him about the arrest of the individual suspected of killing Parubiy.

He confirmed that necessary investigative procedures are underway and directed that all accessible details be made public.

"All the circumstances of this horrendous murder must be clarified," Zelenskyy emphasized.
In another message, Zelenskyy revealed that he had communicated with Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko, who provided an update on the procedural measures related to the suspect.

"The suspect has given an initial testimony," Zelenskyy remarked, adding that urgent investigative efforts are ongoing to uncover all aspects of the murder.

On Saturday, Zelenskyy reported that Parubiy had been fatally shot in the city of Lviv.

Ukrainian media outlets stated he was shot eight times and died immediately.

Parubiy launched his political journey as a lawmaker and held the position of speaker of Ukraine’s parliament, the Verkhovna Rada, from 2016 to 2019.

Until his passing, he remained actively engaged in politics as a member of parliament representing the European Solidarity party.

Additionally, he served on the parliamentary committee responsible for national security, defense, and intelligence.
