Sri Lankan Criminals Brought Back From Indonesia
The criminals were identified as Kehelbaddara Padme, Commando Salinda, Backhoe Saman, Panadura Nilanga, and Thembili Lahiru.
Sri Lanka's Public Security Minister Ananda Wijepala and Inspector General of Police (IGP) Priyantha Weerasooriya were among those present at the airport when the criminals were brought to Sri Lanka on a SriLankan Airlines flight.
Wijepala told reporters the arrest was made in a joint operation between the Sri Lanka Police and Indonesia Police with the assistance of Interpol.
He said the criminals are now in the custody of the Criminal Investigations Department.
