Chinese media platform WeChat to have labels for AI-generated content
(MENAFN) Chinese social media platform WeChat announced plans to implement labeling for content created using artificial intelligence (AI), aiming to enhance transparency and maintain user trust. The system will feature both explicit and subtle markers to indicate AI-generated material.
Starting Monday, all WeChat accounts must mark AI-created content—including text, images, audio, video, and virtual scenes—so users can easily identify it. The platform stressed that users are responsible for clearly declaring when content is AI-generated and are forbidden from removing or tampering with the labels.
WeChat also cautioned against using AI to produce false information or engage in illegal activities, underscoring the goal of fostering a safe and reliable online environment.
