Kiev states Zelensky ready to discuss territory with Putin

(MENAFN) Ukraine has expressed readiness to discuss its territorial conflict with Russia through direct talks between President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin. A senior Ukrainian official emphasized that negotiations should start from the current frontline.

Speaking to NBC News, First Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Kislitsa stressed that Ukrainians oppose ceding land for peace, but reports suggest Zelensky could consider freezing the existing front lines as part of a potential settlement.

Kislitsa also highlighted ongoing discussions on Western security guarantees, noting that European nations are expected to provide most of the forces, while the US might oversee overall command. Moscow has indicated openness to security guarantees but rejects any deployment of Western troops, and Russian officials have raised concerns about Zelensky’s authority to finalize binding agreements.
