Feds carries out raid of ex US National Security Adviser

(MENAFN) Federal investigators carried out a raid at the Maryland home of former U.S. National Security Adviser John Bolton early Friday as part of an ongoing national security inquiry, according to reports.

The search took place at Bolton’s residence in Bethesda, near Washington, D.C., beginning around 7 a.m. local time. Reports indicated the operation was ordered by FBI Director Kash Patel.

Patel later wrote on social media platform X: “NO ONE is above the law … @FBI agents on mission.”

The probe is reportedly tied to classified documents, with the investigation first initiated several years ago before being put on hold under President Joe Biden’s administration, allegedly “for political reasons,” according to a senior official.

Bolton, who held the post of national security adviser under former President Donald Trump from 2018 to 2019, has since become a vocal critic of his former boss. He previously faced scrutiny over allegations of including sensitive information in his 2020 book The Room Where It Happened.
