Emilia Mickevicius
I am a historian and curator of photography. My title is Norton Family Assistant Curator of Photography, a dual appointment between the Center for Creative Photography at the University of Arizona and the Phoenix Art Museum. In my role, I primarily draw upon the CCP's permanent collection of photographs to curate exhibitions for the broad audience in Phoenix. In 2019 I received my PhD from Brown University, where my dissertation project focused on 1970s landscape photography and specifically the 1975 exhibition New Topographics. Between finishing graduate school and starting my current position, I worked in the photography department at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, where I contributed to numerous exhibitions.
