Brian Q. Jenkins
Brian is a criminologist specialising in child maltreatment, child protection systems, risk assessment, and maternal incarceration. Brian has extensive experience working with secondary and administrative data for performance measurement, research, and evaluation, as well as experience surveying children and young people, including children living in out-of-home care. Brian's research focuses on systemic patterns and drivers of change, and he has a strong interest in translating research into policy.
Prior to entering academia, Brian worked in senior and principal roles across a range of government agencies in Queensland including the Department of Child Safety, the Department of Communities, and the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian.
Brian is a Lecturer in the School of Allied Health, Sport and Social Work, a member of the Griffith Criminology Institute, and an Investigator for the Transforming Corrections to Transform Lives Centre.
