I have published, researched and taught about race relations, diversity and social inequality for 44 years before retiring in 2012. I've authored four books: 1) Understanding Diversity: An Introduction, Third Edition, co-authored with Bryan R Ellis (2021). My academic articles have appeared in a number of publications including the Harvard Education Review, Critical Sociology, Journal of Intergroup Relations and the Chronicle of Higher Education.

Since retirement, I've taught courses to senior citizens at the Osher program at Towson University.
