Daniel Gettings
I am currently a Sessional Tutor in the Department of History at the University of Warwick. I completed my PhD in 2025, supervised by Professor Beat Kümin. My PhD was titled "Sustaining body and soul: the early modern English and their water, 1550 - 1750". It focusesed on the cultural understandings of water and the relationship that early modern people had with it. Through this it explored aspects of how early modern people understood themselves, the world around them, and their place in it. My broader research interest include water, drinking history, and religious history, particularly the history of popular beliefs.
