I am Professor of Transport Technology and Sustainability in the Department of Department of Civil and Construction Engineering at Swinburne University of Technology.

I am a Chartered Professional Engineer with four decades of experience. I have worked extensively in collaboration with both the public and private sectors, including strong engagement with industry. My research interests are in next generation smart mobility systems and the convergence of technology, infrastructure and human elements in urban environments. My current work is focused on harnessing digital innovations to unlock potential opportunities for decarbonisation of the transport sector.

Hussein is a Fellow of Engineers Australia and Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers.
