Iran’s police reports killing of four people in gun fight

(MENAFN) An armed clash early Sunday between police and gunmen in southeastern Iran resulted in four deaths and one injury, according to local reports.

Police were conducting a patrol in Saravan County, located in Sistan and Baluchestan province, when they came under attack by a group described as “terrorists.” During the exchange, three of the assailants were killed. One police officer also lost his life, and another was injured. Authorities have launched a manhunt to capture the remaining attackers.

Sistan and Baluchestan, which shares borders with Pakistan and Afghanistan, has experienced multiple terrorist incidents targeting civilians and security personnel in recent years.
