Chinese automotive innovation changes Egypt’s car market for better
(MENAFN) Inside the busy welding factory of Jetour Auto in Egypt’s Giza region, supervisor Yasser Ahmed Mansour observes the smooth collaboration between automated machines and skilled laborers. To him, this scene highlights how China has swiftly turned advanced technologies into affordable vehicles that are changing Egypt’s car market.
He explained that more Egyptian buyers are opting for Chinese-made cars instead of German, Japanese, or other brands. Mansour attributed this shift to three key factors: cutting-edge technology, near-luxury features, and attractive pricing.
The welding facility is part of a $123 million joint project between China’s Jetour and Egypt’s leading auto dealer Kasrawy Group. It is set to start assembling and manufacturing Jetour T1 and T2 models next year, aiming to meet demand both locally and abroad.
Kasrawy Group’s automotive division vice president, Mostafa Hussein, shared the company’s growth vision. The current factory, spanning 55,000 square meters and producing the Jetour X70 Plus, will soon be joined by a new 86,000-square-meter facility expected to be completed in 2025.
