IDF says it intercepted Houthi missiles

(MENAFN) Early Tuesday, the Israeli military announced it successfully intercepted a missile launched by the Houthi movement from Yemen.

The Israeli army reported on X that warning sirens were activated in multiple locations across the country following the missile launch.

No immediate response has been issued by the Houthi group regarding Israel’s statement.

According to Israeli sources, the Houthis have launched a total of 67 ballistic missiles and 17 drones targeting Israel since March 18.

The frequency of missile and drone attacks by the group has increased following the resumption of genocide in the Gaza Strip in March, which ended a fragile two-month ceasefire.

In addition, since November 2023, the Houthis have been attacking commercial vessels in the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden, and Arabian Sea as part of their support for Palestinians in Gaza, where over 60,800 people have died amid the ongoing Israeli offensive.
