Putin talks about Middle East situation with Netanyahu


(MENAFN) Russian President Vladimir Putin and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke by phone on Monday to address rising tensions in the Middle East, according to a Kremlin statement.

During the call, Putin reaffirmed Russia’s strong stance in favor of resolving regional issues solely through peaceful dialogue. He stressed the need to preserve Syria’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, while also underlining the importance of ensuring political stability and protecting the rights of all ethnic and religious minorities within the country.

The conversation also touched on the growing friction between Israel and Iran. Putin expressed Russia’s readiness to assist in pursuing a diplomatic resolution to concerns surrounding Iran’s nuclear program.
