(MENAFN) The United Arab Emirates (UAE) responded positively on Wednesday to the recent ceasefire declaration in Syria’s southern Suwayda province, calling for reduced tensions and reinforced measures to reestablish order.

Additionally, the UAE condemned the latest Israeli air raids in southern Syria, labeling them a “dangerous escalation” and reaffirming its “categorical rejection of violations that undermine Syria's sovereignty, security, and stability.”
Syria’s Interior Ministry confirmed on Wednesday a newly reached ceasefire in Suwayda, which entails full reintegration of the province under Damascus’s central authority, according to the a local news agency.
This announcement came amid ongoing Israeli attacks on Damascus, Suwayda, and Daraa in southwestern Syria.
Israel’s military claims these operations are aimed at protecting the Druze minority.

The Interior Ministry reported that the fighting has resulted in over 30 fatalities and nearly 100 wounded.
