
Qatar Beat Saudi Arabia In West Asian Volleyball Championship Opener
Manama: Qatar's men's volleyball team made a strong start to their campaign at the inaugural West Asian Men's Volleyball Championship, defeating Saudi Arabia in straight sets (25-18, 25-19, 25-14).
The tournament, hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain, features eight participating teams. Qatar, placed in Group B, will next face Oman tomorrow before wrapping up the first round against Kuwait tomorrow.
Group A includes hosts Bahrain, along with the UAE, Jordan, and Lebanon, while Group B comprises Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Kuwait.
Organized under the West Asia Volleyball Association's vision, the championship aims to foster regional competition, promote the sport, and provide national teams with consistent opportunities for high-level match experience and player development.
