Venezuela condemns US on migrant family separations
(MENAFN) The Venezuelan government has publicly condemned the United States for separating migrant families, calling the actions a violation of human rights, according to reports.
During a press briefing, a senior official from the Unified Command of the Bolivarian Revolution, Jorge Rodriguez, voiced strong criticism, referring to the removal of 18 Venezuelan children from their families as a form of "kidnapping." He demanded the children's immediate return to Venezuela.
Rodriguez stated that although the children are reportedly housed in facilities claimed to be safe, their parents are facing harsh treatment, including criminal charges and physical abuse. He further alleged that some of the detained adults are being held at the Terrorism Confinement Center in El Salvador, despite having committed no offenses.
